I took out and reinstall the front wheel 3 times in the past week, as I changed the front fork oil.
1st time
took out fork and then I realised that I am unable to take out the stopper ring, put back fork.
ride it to the gym and run some errand.
2nd time
took out and bring the fork to JB to change the fork oil, provided my own fork oil and shop
charge me only Rm5 to change the fork oil .
Reference to the manual and the stopper ring which I am unable to take out, manual simply says
in 1 statement.
I am unable to remove it after carefully studying the ring.
At the shop, it takes 2 paxs to do it, he use a screwdriver to hammer the ring at one end and it turn
90 degs, he then use his finger to dig out the stopper ring.
the fork oil is drained and replaced with new ones that I supplied.
3rd time -
I heard crack crack when I tap my front brake lightly while I was riding.
thinking that it was the bearings, i removed the front wheel ready to take out the bearing to be changed.
I realised that I was unable to remove the bearing.
Ride it to JB bike shop to change the front tyre to TT100 Dunlop made in Malaysia at RM 95.
Mechanic rotate the front wheel and observe that there is no crack crack sound, he days that bearing is fine.
" if front bearing spoilt there is a crack crack sound when we rotate the front wheel"
I told him to check the front brake and he says it is fine.
After the tyre is changed I ride back , as I past the Singapore custom, I saw that front brake calliper screw is about to drop, the screw is loose and it is the culprit that cause "crack crack" sound.
I tighten the screw and GN runs great with new TT100 tyre.
